 School G-967 located by the road between Santa Barbara and Ralco in the VIII Region
Our objective for the year 2007 is to raise funds
to support a rural school in Los Notros county, between Santa Bárbara and Ralco, VIII Region of Chile. Ralco
is a remote area that presents high incidence of poverty, 28% while the overall
estimate in Chile
is 19%. Here 46% of the population lives in rural areas, many in high
altitudes which become isolated for long periods of time by snow storms, often
cutting some basic sanitary services such as drinking water, telephone and
electricity. The G-967 School serves currently 29 boys and girls and two teacher work there. We have created a partnership with the Women's Rotary Club of Santa Bárbara to provide assistance to this school in terms of supplies that will directly benefit the students.
